What's in KL (Part 2)

TREC (Kuala Lumpur)

Thinking of dancing, drinking and partying the night away in Kuala Lumpur? There is no place better than TREC Kuala Lumpur (Taste, Relish Experience, Celebrate) is the city’s largest entertainment centre featuring an array of restaurants, bars, pubs, lounges, cafes, and clubs under one roof such as Artebar, Avalon Club Lounge & Zouk

Spanning over 28,000 square metres, this dining and nightlife hub is set along Jalan Tun Razak, with expansive views of the Royal Selangor Golf Club, Petronas Twin Towers, and Menara KL Tower.

1. Artebar

Artebar is a creative space decorated from wall to wall with pictures and graffiti displaying various forms of art. Its main floor is usually packed with warm bodies dancing to the DJ’s beat and vying for the bartender's attention.

Occupying two floors, the ground floor has the bar set up on the side, offering a selection of cafe-like snacks whereas the first floor of the establishment transports partygoers to a lounge-like club space, with more than enough room to dance the night away.

2. Avalon Club Lounge

AVALON Club Lounge. Decked out in a stylish royal gold-orange colour palette with an exposed brick wall and cosy leather couches pushed against the wall, the space is warm and inviting. If you prefer a more upbeat vibe, there are bar tables and stools surrounding the dance floor. The DJ console is the main focus of the room, equipped with colourful LED lights and a powerful sound system.

For something fiery, the bar sticks to the classic gentlemen’s pour with a heavier dose of 45ml of alcohol instead of the usual 30ml. Classic cocktails are served with a twist here, one of the most potent is the Around The World, a combination of premium brandy, whisky, vodka, gin, rum and crème de menthe (a peppermint-flavoured alcoholic drink) that’s topped with beer and Asian fusion cuisine.

3. Zouk Club KL

Zouk means 'party' in French Creole and this world-famous club certainly lives up to its name, with each of the club’s spaces featuring different decor and offering diverse clubbing experiences. Zouk KL is best known for welcoming an ever-changing line-up of international DJs such as legends Paul Van Dyk and Tiesto, and more recently Hardwell, Martin Garrix and Laidback Luke. They also host themed party nights like retro Mambo Jambo (the 70s and 80s hits remixed with house music) on Wednesday nights.
